    Triparti Cut

    • Women in ancient Egypt often donned a triparti style by blunt-cutting their bangs in the front, trimming shoulder-length strands on the sides and keeping their hair long in the back. The style was named "triparti" because of these three lengths. With this haircut, many women chose to curl their tresses, a style that looks beautiful on many brides. Consider using a large curling iron to create subtle waves, or use a smaller iron for spiral curls. Any triparti style can be topped off with the veil of your choice.

    Braids

    • Many ancient Egyptian women opted to wear their hair in long braids. Often this style hung straight down the back, with either curls added to the braid's end or a weighted accessory used to keep it straight. Brides can incorporate this ancient style into their wedding outfit via a trendy modern braid. According to The Knot website, braided styles can be more intricate, elegant and formal than simply wearing your hair down. Conversely, loosely braided hair can add a romantic and whimsical feel to any wedding.

    Wigs and Hair Extensions

    • In ancient times, many wealthy Egyptians, both women and men, shaved their heads as a sign of nobility. However, many of these ladies still wanted hair to style, and consequently wore wigs made of human hair. If your hair is unable to be used to create the wedding style of your dreams, wigs or hair extensions allow you to wear whatever hair texture, length and color you want. For example, according to The Knot, one bride and groom surprised their friends and family members by wearing large curly wigs before dancing to disco music together.

    Adornments

    • Adding adornments or accessories to your wedding hairstyle is a look reminiscent of the ancient Egyptian. Women of all classes would adorn their locks with everything from lotus blossoms to colorful ribbons to gold beads. Brides today can accessorize to their hair in a variety of ways; for example, a side-swept updo can be embellished with a floral headband while decorative combs can be used to adorn a bun. For a simpler look, add flair to your long waves with jeweled hair pins.
