How Do I Get the Eye Symbol Back in GIMP?

    • 1). Open GIMP by clicking its icon on the desktop or in the "Programs" section of the Start menu. Create a new image by clicking "File" then "New." Open an image by clicking "File" then "Open" and selecting an image file.

    • 2). Click "Windows" in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Select "Dockable Dialogs. Choose "Layers" to open the Layers window. Hold the "CTRL" key and press "L" to show or hide the Layers window.

    • 3). Click the "Layers & Channels" window to highlight it and click the "Layers" tab inside the window if it is not already selected. You will see a list of the layers in your image with a thumbnail and name representing each layer.

    • 4). Click to the far left of the thumbnail for one of the layers. The eye icon should appear, indicating that the layer is visible.

    • 5). Click to the far left of the thumbnail of the other layers to show the layers and enable the eye icon.

    • 6). Click the eye icon again to hide any visible layers.
