How to Fix a Watch Crystal

    • 1). Place masking tape around the watch bezel along the edges where it meets the crystal. Light pressure on the tape should provide an adequate seal. The tape will prevent toothpaste from bleeding onto the band material.

    • 2). Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the crystal with a cotton swab. Work the paste in small, circular patterns with a moderate amount of pressure. Allow the paste to dry.

    • 3). Wipe the dried paste off from the crystal with tissue paper and polish using a soft cloth.

    • 4). Check the watch crystal for results. Deeper scratches may require more effort. Sometimes it's necessary to follow the line of the scratch first as opposed to using the circular motion.

    • 5). Repeat Steps 2, 3 and 4 as necessary until satisfactory results are obtained.

    • 6). Remove the masking tape from the watch bezel.
