If you regularly work out of town or are actually living in another city then there is a big strain on the relationship from the start.
  While you are long distance you need to use email, the phone, texting.
  It is important not to over do this.
  In fact you need to lay off for a bit then when you are ready with a plan for getting back together,  leave a phone message that your Ex will not be able to resist.
  How do you do this?  Curiosity, think of the kinds of messages that make you curious but whatever you do, don't leave a message and beg for a call back or leave a message about a fake emergency.
Use curiosity but about something real.
  No one can really resist curiosity.
  This techique is going to need some setup.
  You need to figure out some positive spin on something your Ex did for you.
  You absolutely need to have this setup before you leave this message: Leave a message like, "Hi Jackie, I really appreciate what you did for me.
  Call me because I'd like to thank you personally.
"  This is a good positive message and Jackie won't be able to help but call you to find out what she did.
  But remember, be ready with something plausible otherwise you will make things worse.
  But, if done correctly this process can cast a spell.
