War Time Unity in Democracies Must Be Carefully Watched
The Machiavellian Prince is alive and well my friends and we must always watch out for those who rise from the people using the elected system of democracy, only to get into power, discard term limits and make themselves the King.
Nationalism runs high at times of war, when the people in society of any given civilization must come together to defend their nation or fight for their cause.
Generally, when a nation is bound by such a strong sense of nationalism, it provides an opportunity for the Machiavellian predator to take control and make all that is, his.
We don't have to look very far in the world today to see that this goes on.
Many nations that have gone from Third World and are scratching at the surface trying to get into the first world, will find themselves in an unfortunate and precarious position, as one of their podium pushing politicians usurps their authority in order to control their population.
When this happens, it's all downhill from there.
First, they rid themselves of term limits, use their power to crush their political adversaries, or imprison them, then eventually announce themselves dictators, or kings.
In fact, it's so common that even those that live in the strongest democracies with the most checks and balances, are always kept on their toes watching out for those who will steal from the nation's treasuries, and use the nation's armies against its own people to take over control.
Should the citizens of our planet be worried about these kinds of things even in this day and age? The answer is yes, it can happen in any country including the United States of America.
Most likely it won't because the people would immediately take action into their own hands.
Nevertheless, even if it won't happen here, it is happening right now as we speak; today in nations that are only one continent away.
Indeed, I hope you will please consider this, and consider your responsibility for freedom in your own country, whichever that country may be.
