Radio Advertising Tips

Radio advertising can be a great way to get new customers into your place of business. With all of the marketing mediums available for business owners to use, radio is a medium that most people just don't use. Why is that? Well probably mainly because they don't think radio advertising is for them.

But the truth of the matter is that radio advertising can work for anyone. I once heard this radio ad that included all of the elements of a successful radio ad. It had a headline, it was attention getting, it kept my attention with the features and benefits, and then it ended with a close. The radio ad was so good that I made it a point to go and seek out this business for myself.

So are you still convinced that radio advertising isn't for you? If so, then you should change your mind. Let's take a look at the core elements that goes into making a successful radio ad. Here's the first tip:

1) Stand up

If you stand up while doing your ad, it will give you more enthusiasm and enunciation when delivering your pitch. As opposed to sitting down, you will convey the message that you are not excited, and your radio ad won't sound as good. I know of a guy where whenever he would do his ad, he would always stand up to do it. Make sure you make it a point to sound as clear as possible. Here's another tip:

2) Get interviewed

This technique is taking your radio ad by storm. By far the best kind of radio ad is when the DJ sits down and interviews you. This will bring alot of credibility to your name, and will inspire trust amongst all of the listeners who are tuning in. Once again, when delivering your interview, stand up the whole time.

If you can go down to the radio station and have the interview, then obviously you won't be able to stand up for the whole duration of the interview. So since you will be sitting down, do your best to sound punctual and upbeat. Focus on giving clear cut answers, and sound excited at the same time. Here's the last tip about radio advertising:

3) Give your contact information

Believe it or not, some radio DJ's will try to get you in for the interview, but will cut you short when it comes to delivering your pitch for your business or product. Don't let this happen. Make sure that it is agreed before you go on the air that you will be able to state your contact information at the end of the ad, and get it in writing if you possibly can. This way the radio station won't deny you of your deserving contact information.

Once you have gotten that squared away, it's time to focus on your pitch. State your phone number at least twice, and if you have a website, mention this twice also. Have something for free to offer to your leads so that you can give them an incentive for taking action now. Make sure your listeners know your website - so spell it out if you think this is necessary.

All in all, radio advertising can be a lucrative marketing tool that you can use in your business. Be sure to start using it today to earn more money in your business.

Good luck with marketing your products and services.
