Our prospects email boxes are loaded with email every day, coupled with their busy lifestyle, their attention span is bound to be short. In this article we will explore the methods of capturing fragile attention span.

The general rule for email marketing is the closer you relationship to your subscribers, the longer your email can be. However, do not take anyone for granted.

You still have to grab the persons attention with a clear and emotional driven subject heading. Stir your subscribers interest with possible solution to their problems. In this way, you are differentiating yourself with your competitors.

Make response simple and easy. Do not ask for more information from your subscribers than you need. Information greed invades privacy of your subscribers and may turn them off.

Write as non commercially as you can: share experiential background with your readers. Write as if you know that person and the reader will join in the assumption. This will enhance communications and improve the relationship. Be careful not to border on insults and breach of privacy.

Thank your readers for things they have done : when they subscribes, when they orders, or reorders, when they fill in your survey list. Show them you care. On the opposite, when they complain or ask questions through the email, answer quickly and thank the individual for his/her feedback as well.

In summary, personalize your email so that you can capture fragile attention spans. Most of your competitors would not even do that. A complaint aimed at you is better than a complaint aimed outside.
