Shopping As a Cure for Achilles Tendonitis (Achilles Heel Pain)

Did you know that triathlon actually consists of four disciplines and not only the three most commonly known such as swimming, biking and running? The guys who are claiming this consider shopping to be the fourth discipline.
Let us apply this concept on your Achilles heel pain problems.
The first thing to look at is your shoes.
You should go for a model with good side stability giving you a correct support.
This is especially important if you are an over pronator.
Your first stop should be a sports shop where they have a treadmill for testing out a pair of shoes that are correct for your running stride.
The shoes recommended in such shops are usually a little bit more expensive than the regular shoes you might be buying but in this context there is a connection between higher costs and higher performance provided by the more expensive shoes.
The next thing for you would be to get yourself a pair of custom-made insoles for your shoes.
The insole is exactly fitted to your feet and they provide excellent support for your foot arch.
Search in the yellow pages after a local dealer.
The cost is usually around $150, but it is really worth the money.
The soles can be reused every time you buy a new pair of shoes.
It's just to exchange the insole and off you go.
Achilles heel pain usually comes together with sore calves.
A massage could be a really nice way to make sure you take care of yourself.
I have to admit that I have never felt any improvements of my Achilles heel pain problems after a massage, but I always enjoy it and it always feels a little bit luxury to get a massage.
Try it.
The drugstore is our next stop at our shopping tour on the search for a cure for Achilles tendonitis.
You can use pain killers and anti-inflammation drugs for immediate relief but unfortunately they will not cure your Achilles heel pain long-term.
The reason is that inflammation is not the primary issue.
Each time you go for a run your Achilles tendon degenerates under the pressure of your body.
New blood vessels grow into the degenerated area in order to fuel the growth of new tendon tissue.
These blood vessels produce a chemical that causes pain in your Achilles tendon.
If your shopping tour hasn't solved your Achilles heel pain problems I would recommend you to go for eccentric calf exercises.
This is the number one treatment for Achilles heel pain.
