    Judge Distances

    • Try using a golf GPS to fine tune your eye for distances on the course. While your caddie may know the ins and outs of the course, a golf GPS gives extremely accurate measurements. This helps you judge distances in the long run. Once you get the feel of how you judge distances compared to the GPS, you'll be able to adjust accordingly. After using the tool for an extended period of time, the change in your game will be very noticeable. Shot distance calculators are also available. A shot distance calculator will give you the true distance of your shots. This is great for comparing how you shoot in the elements and what type of distance you're actually getting out of your clubs.

    Course Management

    • Take the GPS to your favorite course and play it according to your GPS and not how you regularly would. Take the suggestions and angles the GPS gives you and see what happens. This will teach you how to play with your head instead of your gut. When you play with your head at unfamiliar courses you will achieve a better score. You will approach the game differently after taking the GPS through your favorite course a handful of times.

    Blind Holes

    • You will be able to compare your position with the position of the hole without seeing the hole. Using a GPS will save you time, as well as give you a clear picture of the green without actually being able to see it. You will also be able to get the distance to the hole, as well as distance to the sides and back of the green. Distances to hazards and the dimensions of the hazards are also available allowing you to place your shots accordingly.
