Are you looking for the best advice on breaking up? Making a clean break is what most people want.
We don't want to be bogged down with days, weeks, or months of trying to work things out once we've decided to move on.
The problem is that the other person may be caught completely off guard by the ending of the relationship.
This means you might have a little bit of explaining to do.
So, what's the best advice on breaking up you need to follow? Try these things for a better break up and to minimize potential hard feelings after the relationship has ended.
1) Be firm.
Don't give the slightest hint of waffling.
This is your decision and you need to see it through for the night.
There's a reason you made the decision to call things off.
This means there's something wrong with the relationship.
Even if you would consider reconciliation later on make no hint of it while breaking up.
It would undermine any changes your breakup might bring about.
If it isn't in the cards offering the hope of getting back together would be leading your ex on and that isn't a very nice way to end things either.
2) Keep it simple.
There is no need for flowery speeches or a complicated explanation of why you want to call things off.
Your ex is going to want to know why and you should let him or her know why the relationship has ended.
Think long and hard before you break up so that you are prepared to tell your ex the truth.
Whatever you do, don't make up a reason that isn't the truth.
You owe it to the love you did have for this person to give your ex the truth about why you are leaving even if you feel it won't paint you in a positive light.
3) Don't break up at home for either of you.
Also avoid breaking up in places that hold sentimental value for you both as a couple or either of you personally.
Find somewhere neutral to do the deed.
4) Make sure your ex gets home safely.
It's the least you can do especially if your ex is in no shape to get home of his or her own power.
It's probably not a good idea for you to drive your ex home but it is a good idea to call someone to take your ex home and see that your ex makes it inside safely.
Breaking up shouldn't mean that you've completely stopped caring.
The best advice on breaking up is going to be advice that encourages you to do what is right no matter how difficult it might be.
Perhaps if the tables are ever turned the one breaking up with you will take the same great care and courtesy when handling your heart.
