The Top 5 Ab Exercises For Men

103 6
Stop wasting time doing crunches and start doing these ab exercises for men.
You've may have heard that men and women can train the same.
That is absolutely true! Men and women should be training very similarly in the gym.
However, these ab exercises work a little better for men than they do for women.
I like to train my abs heavy and intense, just like my other muscles.
That's why I love these exercises.
They allow you to increase the intensity by adding additional weight.
Women generally can't train as heavy as us guys so it only makes sense that these exercises yield better results for men.
My 5 Favorite Ab Exercises For Men Are:
  • Cable Crunches - You've probably seen some of the guys in your gym doing these.
Most guys hook the rope attachment up to the cable machine and kneel down and hold the rope while they do crunches.
Here's a tip, instead of using the rope attachment, use the straight bar attachment.
It's much easier to grip than the rope.
Aim for about 30 reps and do 2-3 sets.
Concentrate on targeting your abs and feeling the pump just as you would concentrate on feeling the pump in your chest when you do bench presses.
  • Weighted Ball Crunches - You usually see the girls on those bosu balls doing crunches, right? Hold a dumbbell or weight plate against your chest while resting the ball on your lower back and try telling me its a girl exercise!
  • Weighted Planks - Just like ball crunches, you probably thought these were a piece of cake, right? Next time you are training abs try doing planks, but this time have one of your friends place a 25lb weight plate on your back.
Try holding that plank for 1 minute.
It's not the piece of cake you thought it was!
  • Woodchops - I wish I could explain these better, but it's easier if you do a YouTube search and learn for yourself.
Attach a handle to the cable machine and cross the handle over in a diagonal direction as you squeeze your abs and obliques.
These are a real ab killer.
  • Lying Leg Raises - These are one of the best exercises in my opinion because you can do them anywhere and they work like a charm.
Once you've got the hang of it, try doing hanging leg raises.
Hanging leg raises require a bit more stability and balance so they are much harder.
There you have it - 5 ab exercises for men that are guaranteed to provide awesome results!
