How to Get Rid of Address Bar History

    Internet Explorer

    • 1). Start your Internet Explorer browser and click the "Delete Browsing History" option under the Tools menu.

    • 2). Click the "History" box. The check mark indicates that you want to erase the list of any websites visited.

    • 3). Click the "Delete" button. The address bar no longer displays the website URLs when you click the arrow next to it or begin typing an address.

    Firefox

    • 1). Open your Firefox browser, click the "Tools" menu and select the "Clear Recent History" option from the drop-down list.

    • 2). Select the "Everything" option from the "Time range to clear" drop-down menu in the window that appears.

    • 3). Click the "Browsing & Download History" box to produce a check mark that directs Firefox to erase your address bar history. Click the "Clear Now" button to finish the process.

    Safari

    • 1). Launch your Safari Web browser.

    • 2). Click the "Clear History" option title under the "History" menu.

    • 3). Click the "Clear" button in the dialog window that displays to confirm you want to get rid of the history that populates your address bar.
