How to Draw a Real Black Labrador
- 1). Draw an egg shape lying on its side. This will be the main portion of the dog's body. Above this egg shape and to the northwest, draw a small circle.
- 2). Connect your circle and your egg shape with a curvy line that mimics the natural slope of the dog's back. This line should continue horizontally for a few inches, ultimately heading downward to mimic the shape of the dog's tail.
- 3). Draw the Labrador's snout by creating a sideways U shape off the left side of the small circle. Draw one floppy ear hanging down across the top of the small circle.
- 4). Draw the curvy lines of the dog's legs jutting down and out from the right and left sides of the egg shape. Consult a picture of a Labrador as a guide.
- 5). Connect all your lines, making them appear to join seamlessly together. Draw details on the dog such as the line of the mouth, the eyes and the curve of the paws on the ground. Shade in the dog's tail, giving it texture and thickness. Erase any guiding lines.
- 6). Shade in your entire drawing with a charcoal pencil to create the fur coat of the dog.
