Best Visitor Choices in New Orleans

There are lists upon lists of things to do in New Orleans. This post is not one of those lists. I think it is much more helpful to provide readers with resources to explore attractions and things to do by themselves. There is a wealth of information available for travelers. Most of it can be found online. This post will deal with some of those resources.

Have you ever walked into a hotel lobby and noticed the rack of brochures with all the local tourist attractions? Certified Folder Display fabricates, distributes and services those brochure racks in addition to the brochures that go in them. There is a digital version called VisitorTips.com. It gives tourists access to the same brochures, but in digital format on the website. Those looking for things to do in New Orleans will find attractions, accommodations, shopping, dining and even transportation information along with discounts, coupons and hot deals. Visitor Tips is our favorite resource for visitors to New Orleans.

Web directories are another of our favorite tools for visitors to New Orleans. These are in essence glorified virtual phone books, similar to the yellow pages. But online directories contain a whole lot more for the consumer. Individuals can use these directories to locate an attraction in New Orleans, find prices, hours of operation, detailed descriptions and sometimes photos and video. Many of them list local attractions, hotels, dining services, shopping establishments and even transportation companies. Travelers are encouraged to read through the user testimonials before making reservations.

For travelers who are interested in museums, libraries and other public facilities in New Orleans, government websites and municipal web pages could be a great help. We suggest reviewing these sites as they provide specific hours of operation and will likely let you know if anything is closed for renovations, which happens quite a bit in the travel industry. Be careful, however. Government websites aren't always updated regularly and you might want to call to check on the status of a particular government building or attraction before leaving for your trip.

This may appear to be a bit unimpressive, but the search engines can be a great place to research more information on things to do in New Orleans or almost any city you are visiting for that matter. But rather than enter your search phrase like you normally would, consider using a refined search by selecting one of the options in the side bar such as Places, Forums, Discussions or Blogs. The kind of categories is determined by the search engine you use. Here you'll find other folks asking many of the same questions in which you are interested. The contributors in these forums are often very knowledgeable and like to help out as much as they can. They like sharing their knowledge. Many of these people offer assistance free of charge and are a good resource for tourists.

There is a good deal of information available for vacationers and travelers. Most of the information is static, but seek out a live person, perhaps a local, in one of the forums that is familiar with the New Orleans region. You will find plenty online that are familiar with virtually any location you can imagine. They're there to help and most are more than happy to share with you things to do in New Orleans.
