How to Draw an Anime Male
- 1
The basic frame
Begin by drawing a skeletal frame. Draw an oval for the head, a cylinder for the neck and an arch shape for the chest and shoulders. Inside the head draw a cross or "t" shape to serve as a guideline for the facial features. Add a notch about halfway down from the middle of the cross. Below this add a longer notch. These will serve as guidelines for the nose and mouth. - 2
The frame with eyes
Add the details onto the frame. Draw two small angular ovals for eyes on the horizontal line of the cross. Draw the eyebrows by adding a rectangular shape that ends in a point on the outside edge. Add ears with some oval shapes to the side of head. Create the nose with a small triangle shape. Attach a bent vertical line to the nose. - 3
Adding more details
Create the final details on the frame. Add the hair by drawing jagged lines around the outside of the head. Create bangs with some jagged shapes around the brow line. Add pupils with small half circles inside the eyes. Add nostrils to the nose with two small lines inside the nose triangle. Add an upside down triangle under the mouth. Make the collar on the character by drawing a line around the neck that dips into a "V" shape. - 4
The final pencil sketch
Finish the pencil version of the drawing. Erase all the guidelines. Erase the triangle shape around the nostrils. Add the collar details with a parallel line matching the "V" shape of the collar. - 5
The final drawing
Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry. Erase all the pencil. Darken in the eyebrows. Darken in the pupils of the eyes, leaving some space to make the eyes appear shiny. Add shadows under the bangs, the chin, neck and the ears. This will add depth and realism to the picture. You can use this as a basic template to design hundreds of different Anime characters.
