Braiding for Cable Harnesses
- 1). Cut the individual harness wires to the desired length, using the wire cutters. Arrange them so that they are of equal length.
- 2). Place one end of the wire grouping in the vise. Tighten the vise by cranking the handle. Do not crush the wires from over tightening.
- 3). Open the drill chuck by loosening it with a key and holding it while slowly reversing the drill.
- 4). Insert the other end of the wire bundle into the chuck. Tighten the chuck back down over the wires by grabbing it and slowly running the drill forward. Tighten with the key if present.
- 5). Depress the trigger slowly to begin twisting the wires together. Stop when the wires are snug.
