Well botox is a protein that will basically stay active for 4 to 6 months. People will have their botox treatment lasting about that long then they will have to have it repeated. But something that you might not be aware of, and an amazing thing about botox is that when you get it done, with each successive treatment it tends to last a bit longer, because the muscles it is getting injected into are becoming more relaxed.

Now what about the safety of botox? Are there bad botox side effects ?

Well, when people get huge anounts of botox, the large amounts need when treating muscular diseases like Dystonia or muscular sclerosis and other problems like that, there have been reported side effects.

BUT the good news is that the dosage used in regular cosmetic procedures - there really are no side effects.

Occasionally, a person might develop antibodies to botox which stop it working, but we have new types of botox derivatives we can use, ones that are not botox themselves because of course botox is a trademarked name, but other types of neuro-modulators that can work when botox fails. I have been using those for quite a while now with excellent results.
