How to Operate the E-Reader
- 1). Download the E-Reader software for your particular operating system or device. All versions of E-Reader are available on the E-Reader website. You will see only the Pro editions of the software, but it will be listed free of charge. This is the version you will want to download.
- 2). Install the E-Reader software onto your device. E-Reader can be installed to computers as a standard application, by double-clicking the setup icon and following the screens through the installation process. To install on a Palm or Blackberry, use the "Install" feature available in the desktop software for the device. The E-Reader will be installed when the device is synced with the computer.
- 3). Open the E-Reader software and a list of all of the ebooks stored on the device will automatically be displayed. Highlight any book in the list to select that book, and click or touch "Open" to open that book.
- 4). Turn the pages in E-Reader by several different means. You can tap the bottom of the screen to move forward in the book or the top of the screen to move backward in the book. You can also use the page up and page down buttons to move backward and forward in the book. On a unit with arrow keys, you can use the up and down arrows to navigate through the book.
- 5). Open the E-Reader menus by tapping into the menu button area, if your hand-held has one, at the bottom of the screen. If your hand-held has a keyboard, use the designated key combination to get to the menus. Menus on the E-Reader include the "Book" menu, the "Go" menu and the "Options" menu. Use the "Book" menu to add and delete ebooks, the "Go" menu to navigate through the current ebook, and the "Options" menu to enable E-Reader features, such as the "Auto Scroll" option, which lets the pages scroll and turn on their own so that you do not need to manually turn them.
