    • 1). E-mail yourself a Microsoft Word document. Make sure you send to an address you can access from your iPhone's Mail application.

    • 2). Check your e-mail on the iPhone and open the message to which you attached the Word document. Click the name of the document at the bottom of the message and wait for it to download.

    • 3). Double-tap the document's text to "Select All," then choose "Copy." Open a blank e-mail or note and single-tap. Choose "Paste." You can now edit your document's text, or use it as a starting point for something bigger.

    • 4). Download and install any of the applications listed in Resources to add formatting to your document or to create a new one altogether. Point your iPhone's browser to the link of your choice or simply search for the application's name in the AppStore.

    • 5). Create a new document using your application and e-mail it to yourself, which you can do within your application of choice. Open the document on your computer and compare formatting to check your application's accuracy.
