These contents can be of many forms, and each of these forms have their own value, as well as their own uses, and will benefit your readers in different ways.

How-To Posts In "How-To" posts, as the title suggests, you can provide a step-by-step guide on carrying out something - Whether is it solving a problem, creating something from scratch, etc.
Some examples can be how to sign up for a web hosting service, how to potty train your cat effectively in 3 simple steps, etc.

Review Posts In "Review" posts, you can review products, services, etc.
What you can do here is that you can review particular products that you think people in your niche will be interested in.
For example, if your blog is about digital photography, what you can do is to create review posts to review the latest digital cameras (making sure you review just one camera in one single post), and at the end of the post, you can provide them with a link to purchase the camera (this is where you can make money by putting in your affiliate link).
In your review post, do make sure that you not only state down the plus points about the products or services, but you need to also state down the negative points as well (it is only by stating down the negative points about a particular product or service can a post be called a review post, as nothing is perfect in this world).

Opinion Posts In "opinion" posts, you can share with your readers your own personal opinion in reaction to a certain piece of news that just happened in the subject that your blog is about.
