How to Unlock a Password on the iTouch

    • 1). Download and install iTunes version 7.5 or later onto your computer. Launch the software on your desktop.

    • 2). Press down the top button on your iPod Touch. Keep holding it down until the screen displays the "Power Off" menu. Move the slider on the screen with your finger to power off your Touch.

    • 3). Plug your iPod Touch charging cable into your computer while iTunes is running. While holding down the Home button located on the front of your iPod Touch, connect the device into the charging cable

    • 4). Continue to hold down the Home button on your iPod Touch until the screen displays an image of the charging cable and the iTunes icon. Once you see this image, release the home button.

    • 5). Locate the box on iTunes that has appeared stating that you have connected an iPod Touch that is currently in recovery mode. Click "OK" on this box.

    • 6). Choose your iPod Touch from the "Device" menu and then click on the "Summary" tab. Under this tab will be an option to restore the iPod Touch. Click on it.

    • 7). Click "Back Up" to ensure all your iPod Touch files are avaialble after resetting the device. Click "Restore" on the next prompt to reset your iPod Touch.

    • 8). Sync your files back onto your iPod Touch and you can now access the device again as your password prompt will no longer be in effect.
