How to Produce a Sales Flier
- 1). Develop a budget for your flier and stay within it. That may mean sacrificing the quantity of fliers you want in order to create fewer ones of higher quality.
- 2). Lay out your flier by hand with a pen and paper. Make your main message the largest print on the flier. Any other information can be placed at the bottom and in smaller print. Include in the middle a graphic that people will notice. When considering the headline and graphic, keep your target audience in mind. If you own a candy store targeting families, use large graphics of candy treats on your flier, along with a two- or three-word headline about your event or promotion. Be sure your flier includes your business address, phone number and any Internet contact information.
- 3). Create your flier on a computer, using desktop publishing software such as Microsoft Publisher or Adobe Photoshop. The program tutorials will give you step-by-step instructions.
- 4). Create a headline to capture people's attention. It should be in large letters, using a font that can be easily read. Your headline should be concise.
- 5). Include any legal or company policy details along the bottom. Save the main space for your sales message. Make your wording stand out by leaving as much white space as possible. Avoid using dark background images, as they will make your text hard to read.
- 6). Include a coupon. This is a good incentive for people and will help you track your flier's effectiveness. If you are distributing fliers to different target audiences in different parts of town, put a code on the fliers for each different audience so you can assess their effectiveness.
