Zombie Basics

• The foundation for any zombie costume is the makeup used to obtain the undead effect. How much makeup and any special effects prostheses you use will depend on how gruesome you want to appear. You will need to study zombie makeup and effects tutorials, such as the ones on Zombie Maker, and pick up supplies from your local Halloween supply shop, such as white and green theatrical makeup, greasepaint, fake blood, and any prosthetic scars or wounds you want to use. More elaborate zombie costumes may require liquid latex, spirit gum and more advanced makeup techniques.
  
  

Undead Schoolgirl

• A traditional school uniform can serve as a foundation for a cute zombie costume. To create this costume, find a plaid pleated skirt, white button-down shirt, tie and a blue jacket or cardigan. Rip up some of the clothing prior to getting dressed and make sure you have some fake blood or dirt on the clothing. Accessorize with torn knee-high white socks and Mary Jane shoes or loafers. In addition to the zombie makeup covering any exposed skin, wear your hair in pigtails tied with ribbons.
  
  

Zombie Bunny

• Animals are cute costumes for men, women or children, and by altering an existing rabbit costume, anyone can dress as an undead bunny. A pink or white bunny rabbit costume can be turned into a zombie bunny costume by using zombie makeup and effects on the face or any exposed parts of the body. Use scissors to cut slits or holes around the body, and pour fake blood around the holes to give the rabbit the appearance of being bloody.
  
  

Sock-Hop Zombie

• Recreate the look of a 1950s girl or boy going to a sock hop or hanging out at a soda shop with a zombie flair for another cute zombie costume. In addition to zombie makeup, for this costume, you will need a pink poodle skirt, white shirt, cardigan, saddle shoes and white socks. Before wearing any of the clothing, cut or rip each item to give the clothing a tattered look and apply some fake blood. If you are a male, you can be a 1950s greaser zombie. To make this costume, wear a white t-shirt, rolled up dark jeans, white socks, leather jacket and penny loafers. Slick back your hair with gel and don't forget to rip or tear your clothes and apply your fake blood.
