How to Create Basketball Uniforms for My Team
- 1). Consult with your teammates and coaching staff about the colors you will wear. Examine other teams' basketball uniforms in your league. Choose more than one color so that you have a uniform to wear for home games and a uniform to wear for away games.
- 2). Contact sportswear companies (see Resources) to assess the types of basketball shorts and jerseys they offer. Ask if you have the ability to design your own uniform on their website. Ask a friend who draws well or is a graphic designer to create a logo for you. Do it yourself if you have the necessary skills. Also, consider purchasing basketball shorts and jerseys from a wholesaler.
- 3). Choose the company you want to use to design your uniforms. Follow the steps they provide to design your uniform --- this is normally done online. Have your teammates and coaching staff check your work for approval. Collect the players' sizes. Make all necessary adjustments before purchasing your order.
- 4). Silkscreen your logo, player names and numbers onto the uniforms if you choose to simply buy the shorts and jersey from a wholesaler (see Resources). Have a fitting for the basketball players on your team to see if uniforms fit and are comfortable while playing.
