    • 1). Raise the hood of the Intrepid by pulling the hood release lever under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle. Move to the engine compartment.

    • 2). Use a 10 mm wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the negative and positive battery cables onto their respective battery terminals.

    • 3). Remove the negative battery cable from the negative battery post and rest it away from the battery. Lift the positive battery cable clamp from the positive post and place the amplifier ring terminal onto the positive battery post. Return the positive battery cable to the terminal and tighten it to the lead post with the wrench.

    • 4). Remove the fuse from the ring terminal fuse holder. Plug the power cable into the ring terminal and feed it though the firewall and into the cabin of the Intrepid.

    • 5). Use a trim panel removal tool to pry the center dash trim panel away from the stereo dock on the Dodge dashboard. Remove the trim panel to reveal the stereo mounting bracket.

    • 6). Remove the screws on either side of the factory stereo with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Slide the stereo from the dashboard and disconnect the stereo wiring connectors from the rear panel of outlets.

    • 7). Plug the Intrepid's stereo wiring connectors into the wiring harness adapter leads. Plug the patch cables from the amp wiring kit into the appropriate leads of the wiring harness adapter.

    • 8). Plug the wiring harness adapter into the factory stereo. Feed the amp wiring through the back of the stereo dock and down to floor on the passenger's side of the Dodge.

    • 9). Slide the stereo back into the stereo mounting dock and replace the two screws at the sides of the deck. Place the trim panel onto the dash and press firmly to secure it against the dashboard.

Place the amplifier in the trunk of the vehicle. Flank the two subwoofers next to the amp for easier connection.

Route the power cable from the battery (via the ring terminal) along the driver's side of the vehicle and into the trunk area through the rear seats.

    • 12

Lay the patch cables to the amplifier along the passenger side of the vehicle to avoid interference from the power source cabling.

Plug the power cable and patch cables into the appropriate inputs on the amp. Connect the grounding wire from the amplifier wiring kit to the amp's grounding point and to a screw or bolt in the trunk of the Intrepid. Use a trim panel removal tool to lift the carpet in the truck to locate a suitable grounding point. Any bolt or screw directly connected to the vehicle's frame will serve as an adequate ground.
