How do I Install an AVIC-F700BT Stereo in a Toyota Sequoia?
- 1). Disconnect the negative terminal of your battery to prevent electrical shock.
- 2). Locate the silver trim that is around your gauges in the driver's side dash. Firmly grip the trim and pull it out towards you. There are no screws securing it, but you will have to pull it firmly. Start with the left side and work your way to the right side. You should now have all parts of the dash around your gauges removed.
- 3). Grip the dash trim that is right below the climate controls. Once again, pull it firmly away to remove it from the dash.
- 4). Remove the entire climate control panel by grabbing the left side and pulling it towards you. There are no screws that secure this panel.
- 5). Remove the four bolts that are securing the radio to the rest of the dash with a 10mm socket.
- 6). Slide the old radio out of the socket. You will have to disconnect the harnesses from the back of it by pressing in on their unlock tabs. You will also need to remove the power and antenna cords.
- 7). Solder the wires from your wiring harness adapter to the connector on your AVIC-F700BT. All of the wires will be color coded to match. Once you have soldered them, remember to wrap the connections with electrical tape.
- 8). Connect the end of your wiring harness adapter to the harness that you disconnected from the old stereo. Connect the end of the harness that came with your AVIC to the back of the AVIC.
- 9). Connect your power and antenna lines to the back of the AVIC unit.
- 10
Slide your AVIC unit into the slot that your old radio occupied and secure it with the four bolts. - 11
Replace all of your trim units by snapping them back into place in the exact opposite order that you disassembled them. - 12
Reconnect the negative terminal of your battery. - 13
Ensure that your new stereo is functioning properly.
