Turn Your Personal Success Into A Team Sport - PART 1
The truth is that I had been wanting to start a blog for quite some time, but something always seemed to hold me back.
Usually it was something of my own doing, but those setbacks, or excuses, conveniently held me back.
And then I got involved in a mastermind, which has helped me and my business tremendously.
If you are building any type of business online, I would strongly recommend joining one.
Although it is possible to get results by going it alone, online success is far more achievable as a team sport.
There are several reasons why this is the case: Support - Of all the benefits involved in participating in a mastermind, this one helps me the most.
The importance of having a specific person or group of people supporting your efforts can't be overstated.
It is comforting to know that you have someone in your corner that understands your business's operation, aims, and goals.
Sure friends and family are supportive, but your mastermind partners can be a crucial support system, since they know the details of how your projects are faring.
These people make for the best cheerleaders.
Advice - Here is probably the most obvious benefit of a mastermind group.
Being able to gain and seek advice from fellow group members is worth its weight in gold.
Any time you get stuck, or are unsure of a course of action, having someone to share problems and ideas with is a huge help, plain and simple.
That is obvious.
But what isn't so obvious is how your mastermind partners can offer you advice that you don't anticipate.
There are a few times when you develop blind spots with certain aspects of your business because you're knee deep in the moment.
That's why a fresh set of eyes is such a big help.
Your group can point out all kinds of things you wouldn't necessarily have caught yourself.
It is definitely an advantage.
Motivation - For those that tend to struggle or suffer from uneven motivation, taking part in a mastermind group is the perfect medicine.
Although each group is different, one mutally beneficial aspect of a mastermind group are deadlines (I know we routinely use them in ours).
There isn't any harshness involved at all.
This is a positive in the sense that you want to get into the habit of advancing the ball (ie, your project) during your time between every meeting.
And your partners are expected to do the same.
No one wants to show up to a meeting with nothing to show for their time.
That's why having a group to answer to is excellent motivation.
The bottom line is that everyone benefits.
And that's the end of part 1 of this 2-part article.
Getting the most out of a mastermind group can involve many different aspects that can tangibly help you and your business.
Thus far, we have discussed only three of them.
Stay tuned for the next three ways joining a mastermind group can help you and your business.
