What if mankind could control the weather? What if we could stop such things as; Tornadoes, Ice Storms, Blizzards, Typhoons, Cyclones and Hurricanes? What if we could make it rain on the time and day of our choice to provide water to drought-ridden areas? For generations science-fiction authors have discussed defeating Hurricanes.
Today while many meteorologists, physicists and weather experts believe that controlling the weather is impossible and that a "Hurricane killer" concept cannot be created by mankind; the United States Military's own a roadmap talks about Owning the Weather by 2025.
As a science-fiction writer and online think tank coordinator I have put together a list of concepts and ideas to control our weather and even kill large category hurricanes.
Although many decry such concepts and tell us it is impossible, others believe it is only a matter of time.
Will this be the decade man conquers the weather? Never before has mankind known so much about the weather with all our sensors, satellites, data points and the use of Super Computers to figure it all out; tracking in real-time and predicting paths of weather flows, extreme weather and anomalies.
So then how close are we to figuring it all out and knowing where to make minor adjustments using current technologies to change weather patterns or even preventing a Hurricane from forming? Will there come a time when we can defeat, collapse or destroy a large category Hurricane during its peak strength? I believe the answer to all these questions is; YES! And perhaps a lot sooner than you might think.
