For many people they view Earth week as the only time to do something unusual to help the planet.
Some people will plant a tree, work outside, or do something that they normally wouldn't do during Earth week.

The thing that you can do that will help you save money and the planet is to drive your car to the store when you have multiple items to pick up.
Now I know that some people will think this is just plain silly, but if you consider the price of gasoline for many people and that they have to drive about ten miles or so to the store the time that you spend in your car to travel that distance can be saved to do other things around your home like starting a garden which will help the planet.
Another great thing that you can do when you are trying to help the planet out and save money in your pocketbook would be to turn off the lights in rooms that you are not in.
Which will help the planet by reducing the amount of energy that is required to be produced, and will save you money because you will not be using as much electric as you were using prior to turning off the lights when you are not using them.
