How to Calculate Cardiac Perfusion Pressure
- 1). To begin: measure the diastolic atrial pressure with the help of the Doppler flowmetry technique. Diastole atrial pressure is the pressure inside the heart when the arteries are in a relaxed form.
- 2). Measure the aortic diastolic pressure with the Doppler flowmetry method. Aortic diastolic pressure is indicative of the ventricular volumes, which in turn are indicative of the strength of the muscles of the heart.
- 3). Deduct the aortic diastolic pressure from the diastolic arterial pressure; the sum is the cardiac perfusion pressure
