How to Remove Vista Update Backups
- 1). Boot up your computer. Click the "Start" button and type "disk cleanup" in the search box at the bottom of the screen. (If you don't have the search box enabled in the Start menu, go to "Control Panel" and then click "System and Security." From there, choose "Administrative Tools" and then "Free up disk space.")
- 2). Select the drive you want to clean up and click "OK." (For most Microsoft Vista users, this will be the D drive.) On the next screen, click the "More Options" tab. Under "System Restore and Shadow Copies," click "Clean up."
- 3). Click "Delete" on the pop-up screen to remove all backup files and restore points except the latest one.
