Borax Solution

• 1). Don gloves to protect your hands from drying. Open windows to ensure proper ventilation while cleaning.
  
  
• 2). Unplug the heater if it is plugged into the wall. If it is attached to the home, flip the breaker to ensure electricity is not flowing through the heater.
  
  
• 3). Mix 1 gallon of water with 1 cup of Borax in a bucket.
  
  
• 4). Dip a scrubbing brush into the solution and scrub the entire surface of the attic heater. Do not scrub the heating element as this will damage the attic heater. Use as much Borax solution as needed.
  
  
• 5). Wipe down the area with paper towels. Throw the paper towels away to prevent mold spores from drying out and moving to other parts of your home.
  
  
• 6). Do not rinse the attic heater. Let the Borax solution dry on it and prevent mold from growing back.
  
  

White Vinegar

• 1). Pour white distilled vinegar into a spray bottle.
  
  
• 2). Spray the vinegar onto moldy areas and let it sit for an hour.
  
  
• 3). Scrub off the mold stains with a scrubbing brush.
  
  
• 4). Wipe down the area with a water-soaked cloth and let it dry completely.
