    Paste Brush

    • Spread the wallpaper paste evenly over the back of the paper. This is vital to ensure the best finish. A range of brushes are available, but can also be done with a sponge. As this is an adhesive, sponges and normal paint brushes can get stuck together, which has a negative effect on their usefulness. A pasting brush should have synthetic brushes, which are easier to clean and do not stick together.

    Wallpaper Smoother

    • This tool is similar to a squeegee and is used to force any air bubbles from behind the wallpaper. Various versions of this tool are available, all of which are perfectly good at the job.

    Plumb Line

    • This tool has various applications in all kinds of building and construction but, in this case, is used to ensure the paper is hung straight and level. If you are experienced in hanging paper, this is not a necessity, but beginners should use one.

    Craft Knife

    • A sharp craft knife is vital to cut the paper for length, and to go around corners and archways. Blunt knives or scissors have a tendency to tear through the paper, leaving rough edges.

    Folding Table

    • A folding table that can be moved around the room is vital for convenience, cutting and pasting.
