Changing WMV File to JPG
- 1). Open the WMV file by double-clicking it. This will open the video with Windows Media Player.
- 2). Pause the video, then browse the WMV file by clicking along the time line of Windows Media Player until you find the image you would like to capture. Getting the exact moment right can be challenging. (A little trick that will help you with your timing is to pay attention to the video's timer.)
- 3). Enter "full screen" mode by holding down the "Alt" and "Enter" buttons at the same time. It's important to enter full screen mode when capturing a JPG from a WMV file to get the largest image possible without having to crop out any undesired screen images later.
- 4). Press the "Print Screen" button on the top row of your keyboard. On some keyboards the print screen button appears as "PrtSc." The print screen button will copy everything that is on the screen, so make sure to move the cursor out of the frame.
- 5). Open Microsoft Paint.
- 6). Click the "Edit" option located in the top right corner between File and View. Select "Paste" from the drop-down menu. The image captured from the WMV will appear in the paintbrush window.
- 7). Click the "File" tab in the top right corner and select "Save As" from the drop-down menu.
- 8). Type a title for your picture in the "Title" field.
- 9). Click the arrow in the "Save As Type" field and select "JPG," then click "Save."
