How to Impress With Linking Slideshows on OpenOffice
- 1). Copy all the links that you want to use to a notepad document. Make sure you are getting the link from the page you actually want to link to, rather than a sub-page. Keep this document open as you work.
- 2). Open OpenOffice by double-clicking the desktop shortcut. In the dialog that appears, click the "Presentation" button. This will open Impress.
- 3). In the wizard that appears, click "Open and Existing Document." Then click on the "Open" button. Browse to and open a document you have been working on.
- 4). Scroll through the slide previews shown on the left and choose the first one containing an item you want to add a hyperlink to.
- 5). Highlight the item on the slide that you want to add the hyperlink to. Click the "Hyperlink" button at the top to open the dialog.
- 6). Go to your notepad document and highlight the first URL you want to use. Right-click the URL and choose "Copy."
- 7). Go back to Impress and right-click inside the the "Target" entry in the dialog. Choose "Paste" and click "OK."
- 8). Repeat steps 4 to 7 to add all the hyperlinks for your document. Save your work.
