The Industrial Revolution is Over and the Next Great Market is?
As we become a mature debtor nation and try to live and prosper with the fact that the Industrial revolution as we knew it historically is over, what do we do to generate the bulk of our Gross National Product, and what do we export to the rest of the world? We have to answer this question if we hope to survive and prosper as a Nation.
We can't rely on our service industry or our financial acumen to generate real wealth for our Nation.
We are going to have to make something.
Something that people and other Countries will want to buy.
What is it going to be and how are we going to develop it? I don't believe other Countries want our green products in the type of volume that will make a difference.
Maybe they might be interested in our technological inventions.
Possibly advances in our development of Artificial Intelligence Agents might be something they might want to buy, but Japan might have an advantage in Robot development at the moment.
We have done it before and we still have the talent to do it again in spite of a brain drain to foreign countries.
We are the technological innovators of the world when we put our minds to it.
Unfortunately our great Companies are frozen in fear of write offs.
Their minds are not on the research and development investments necessary to come up with the next great technological invention and scientific advance.
Maybe what we have to do while we are putting our fingers in the dike by having government shell out a trillion dollars plus to repave our highways and shore up our financial institutions is come up with a government program to encourage scientific development not just green development.
How about a billion dollar prize for the next great invention? How about subsidizing the development of Artificial Intelligence? How about government supporting the development of Quantum Computing and taking it and us to a whole new level of understanding of the world we live in? We have done it before.
We can do it again.
Let's use our imaginations to develop the products of the future.
Let's invest in our future not our past.
Let's invent a way for us to prosper again.
Maybe we ought to create an Artificial Intelligence Agent using Quantum Mechanics that will take us to a whole new dimension of understanding the world we live in and our economy.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A quantum computer is a device for computation that makes direct use of quantum mechanical phenomena, such as superposition and entanglement, to perform operations on data.
The basic principle behind quantum computation is that quantum properties can be used to represent data and perform operations on these data.
[1] Although quantum computing is still in its infancy, experiments have been carried out in which quantum computational operations were executed on a very small number of qubits (quantum binary digits).
Both practical and theoretical research continues with interest, and many national government and military funding agencies support quantum computing research to develop quantum computers for both civilian and national security purposes, such as cryptanalysis.
[2] If large-scale quantum computers can be built, they will be able to solve certain problems much faster than any of our current classical computers (for example Shor's algorithm).
Quantum computers are different from other computers such as DNA computers and traditional computers based on transistors.
Some computing architectures such as optical computers[3] may use classical superposition of electromagnetic waves.
Without some specifically quantum mechanical resources such as entanglement, it is conjectured that an exponential advantage over classical computers is not possible.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of machines and the branch of computer science, which aims to create it.
Major AI textbooks define the field as "the study and design of intelligent agents,"[1] where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions which maximize its chances of success.
[2] John McCarthy, who coined the term in 1956,[3] defines it as "the science and engineering of making intelligent machines.
" *Quantum mechanics (QM, or quantum theory) is a branch of physics dealing with the behavior of matter and energy on the minute scale of atoms and subatomic particles.
Quantum mechanics is fundamental to our understanding of all of the fundamental forces of nature except gravity.
