Blogs and blogging is the hottest of internet segment and if you have not started your own blog yet, it's likely that you're thing about it.
With millions of blogs online and and many more being added each week how does one compete for the visitors and readers and build traffic to a blog? On great way to build readership to a blog is by commenting on other blogs.
Most bloggers are seeking engagement with the reader and allow comment to be added each time they 'post'.
These posts give you an opportunity to comment and provide a link back to your site.
Some blog comment links are followed by the search engines 'crawlers' while others are not.
Do not be too concerned about this aspect of the strategy as all blog comment links can be followed by humans, which is our focus.
It is best to focus on those blogs in your own niche category.
Find blogs that have high readership in your niche and learn the schedule and pace of the posts.
As new posts are added be quick to read and add your comments.
Since in your own area of expertise you'll find it easy to engage a blog post with relevant comments.
By being on target you have a better chance to get other to comment back or ask questions.
Commenting early in a fresh post is important to get the most traffic and best position.
Nearly every blog shows all posts in order received so the first few comments will remain at the top while newest comments are added at the bottom.
Find the most read blogs and subscribe by RSS feed or email.
Every time they add new content you'll get and update.
Make sure you receive an email notification and perhaps even a text message to your cell phone.
As soon as you can, read and comment.
Soon you'll have the writer's attention and others will begin to recognize your username.
Traffic following you back to your site will sure follow.
One more point, and my personal favorite, is that this takes very little time and has zero cost.
You have nothing to lose and lots to gain.
