Hockey Poster Ideas
- Consider ideas for what you want your hockey poster to include. This will depend a great deal on the purpose of your poster. For example, a promotional poster inviting people to attend an upcoming hometown match and cheer on their team will differ greatly from a poster for your son of his favorite player.
- Utilize a good graphics program like Photoshop to create a professional looking design. Working in layers, you can add new elements to your poster and then make changes to each individual element by resizing it, warping shapes and changing colors, filter styles and more, all while not effecting the other layers. You can also bring in images such as photos to incorporate in your overall poster design. For example, you can bring in a photo of the hockey team that the poster is promoting along with the teams mascot, or you could create a humorous poster with both team's mascots on the ice, hockey sticks in hand, in a head-to-head showdown fighting over the pucks.
- Enlist the teams star player to do a photo shoot for a poster promoting the team. Consider utilizing graphics to add an artsy element to your poster. For example, you can create a rainbow effect that looks like streaks being left on the ice as the player is skating across. Tying your graphic in with a phrase or slogan that will catch the attention of people is a good way to make your hockey poster memorable. Also, if your hockey team is involved in any community activities or charities, think about creating a poster that can link the two together as a way of promoting both the cause your team supports well as the team itself. For instance, if your team promotes literacy programs in area schools, creating a poster with a photo of a team player reading from a book on the history of hockey to a student, both of whom are wearing team jerseys, is a terrific way to get young people interested in that reading program.
