How to Become an Appraiser in Wisconsin
- 1). Complete a state-approved 150-hour education program. The program must include all of what is required in ch. RL 84.02 Wisc. Administrative Code.
- 2). Submit your pre-license education completion certificate to the state for verification. Once approved, the state will provide you with information needed to register for the national and state exam.
- 3). Take and pass the national appraiser exam. The national exam is administered by Person Vue. Visit pearsonvue.com to locate the testing facility nearest you.
- 4). Take and pass the online open-book Wisconsin test for appraisers. This 50-question exam is available online at eptol.drl.wi.gov.
- 5). Complete the required 2,000 hours of appraisal work experience. These hours cannot be completed in less than 12 months. Submit verification of completion to the Wisconsin Depertment of Regulation and Licensing.
- 6). Complete all license requirements within 24 months of passing the state and national exams.
