    • 1). In Outlook, click on "Import and Export" on the File menu. Click "Export to a File" and then click the "Next" button on the box that appears. Click the folder you want to export your contacts from, and then click the "Next" button. Click "Comma Separated Values (DOS)". Click the "Next" button. In the next box that opens, type the name of the file that you want to export. The file will be a comma separated values (.csv) file. Click the "Next" button. Click the Finish button.

    • 2). If you have Outlook Express 4.0 or 4.01, click on"Import" on the "File" menu, and then click the "Address Book" option. If you have Outlook Express 5 though, click the "Import" option on the "File" menu, and then click the "Other Address Book" option. The rest of the importing is not dependent on which version you have, it is the same regardless of version.

    • 3). Click the "Text File (.csv)" and then click the "Next" button. Find the file you exported from your version of Outlook, click the file and then click the "Next" button. Select the check box of the text field that you want to map out. A "Change Mapping" dialog box will appear. Click the address book field. Click the "Import This Field" check box. Click the "OK" button. Click the "Finish" button that appears in the next box. Restart your computer.
