How to Edit Windows Boot Manager in Vista
- 1). Click the "Start" icon in the lower left corner of your screen.
- 2). Type "msconfig" in the search box and then click on the program with that name when it appears in the search results. This will open the "System Configuration" box.
- 3). Click the "Boot" tab in the "System Configuration" box. This will display the options in the boot manager for editing your boot sequence.
- 4). Select the options that are of interest to you. For example, you can opt for a "Safe Boot" which opens the minimal number of operations needed for your computer to function. You can also select the "Make all boot settings permanent" option if you want your edits be the permanent default each time your computer boots.
- 5). Click the "Advanced Options" if you are an experienced user and want to change advanced boot settings such as the baud rate or the debugging options.
