How to Clean a Temporary Folder

    • 1). Go to the Microsoft Windows "Temp" folder. Click on the Windows Start Menu, click on the "Run" option and type "c:\windows\temp" and click on the "OK" button. A window will appear in which you will see the contents of the Windows temporary folder.

    • 2). Clean the temporary folder. Cleaning the temporary folder requires you to select and delete all of the files and directories that are present in the folder. To do this, press the "CTRL" key on your keyboard, hold it down, and then press the "A" button on your keyboard to select the files. Once selected, press the "Delete" button on your keyboard. A dialog box appears, asking you to confirm deletion. Press the "Yes" button.

    • 3). Empty the Windows Recycle Bin. Right click on the Recycle Bin and choose the "Empty Recycle Bin" option. Press "Yes" to confirm that you would like to empty the Recycle Bin.
