How to Reinstall a Dual Boot Windows
- 1). Go to the "Boot" folder on the drive that has Windows Vista installed. Copy the folder and paste it to the drive with Windows XP.
- 2). Find the "bootmgr" file on the drive with Windows Vista. Copy the file and paste it to the drive that has Windows XP.
- 3). Insert the Windows XP installation CD in the CD/DVD drive. Restart your system and it will boot into the Windows XP CD. Run the setup to reinstall Windows XP.
- 4). Restart your system after Windows XP has been reinstalled. Reinstall the Windows Vista bootloader to access the operating system.
- 1). Copy the "Boot" folder and the "bootmgr" file back to the drive with Windows XP.
- 2). Go to the Softpedia download webpage for VistaBootPro. Click the "Download" button and then click the "Softpedia Mirror (US)" link. Save the file to your desktop.
- 3). Double-click the "VistaBootPro_3.3.0.exe" file to run the setup. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the program.
- 4). Double-click the Vista Boot Pro icon on the desktop to run the program. Click the "Bootloader" button on the left side of the window.
- 5). Click the radio button for "Reinstall Vista Bootloader." Click the "Configure It" button to continue. Restart the computer after the process has completed.
