How to Make a Sand Logo With Photoshop
- 1). Start Photoshop. Click the "File" menu. Click the "New" option. Type "SandLogo" into the "Name" field on the "New" window. Enter dimensions for the logo, such as "5" in the Width box and "4" in the Height box. Select "inches" from the two drop-down menus. Select "Transparent" from the Background Contents drop-down and click the "OK" button.
- 2). Click the "View" menu and select "Fit on Screen." This enlarges the gray and white transparent working area, but won't increase the actual size of your logo.
- 3). Click the paintbrush icon on the Tools pane. Click the small drop-down menu on the toolbar to the right of the tiny number icon. Choose the solid dot brush head and slide the "Size" bar to your preferred brush size.
- 4). Draw the logo --- at this time it does not matter what default paint color Photoshop has, as you will be transforming it into a sand look later. Create an abstract design such as swirls, a monogram with the business initials or a familiar symbol such as a peace sign.
- 5). Click the paint bucket tool and click inside the design to fill it with color, for a solid logo look. This is optional.
- 6). Double-click the Layer 1 layer in the Layers palette. This opens the Layer Style window.
- 7). Click the "Pattern Overlay" words in the Styles column. Don't just check the box, as it won't open the Pattern window. The logo is transformed to the default bubble pattern.
- 8). Click into the "Pattern" box on the main portion of the window. Click one of the sand patterns; there are several. Click "OK" when satisfied to return to the logo, now rendered as sand.
- 9). Click the "File" menu and click "Save" to save the logo.
