Be Happy to Stay Healthy
There are several factors being documented that determine a feeling of loneliness.
According to a study, roughly 20% of the world population is lonely, regardless of sex, age or social status.
Studies show that most at risk of getting lonely are women, single parents, the widowed and the unemployed; whereas, married men with jobs and cars are the least likely to be lonely.
Those young mothers who suddenly quit working and stay at home and look after their little children are predominantly susceptible to loneliness and depression.
We are living in a couple-orientated society, thus single parents feel disconnect from it and find it difficult to accept their status.
Likewise, a divorced person shows a lack of self-worth as well as the widowed.
They miss companionship very badly that they would readily engage in a relationship to another person they do not know so well only to end the feeling of loneliness.
Being unemployed may cause loneliness as well.
An unemployed person may develop the feeling of insecurity and depression because he or she will not be able to live comfortably.
Youngsters and the elderly are also affected by this feeling of loneliness.
On most cases, teenagers' natural shyness will make them awkward in the company of their peers, especially their opposite sex.
Elderly people, who move to a new area, may be secluded from their families and old friends will get lonely as well.
Things can be even more complicated when illness and disability occurs, even the fear of going out alone, thus, turning them into prisoners in heir own homes.
So, what is there to do to avoid the feeling of loneliness? It is not a disease in the medical perspective; not even recorded in medical books.
It is probably a symptom of the different mental conditions of the people nowadays.
However, it becomes a problem that affects a lot of us and we must begin to think of a remedy from within ourselves.
First, we need to accept of who we are, regardless of the circumstances that happened in our life.
Love yourself.
Give time for yourself because this is very important.
We cannot give love to someone if we cannot even love yourself.
Love for others will automatically follow.
Accept other people of what they are, regardless of their sex, preference, color and faith.
Be contented off what you have and be thankful of the blessings that come your way.
Staying happy means staying healthy.
Always think positive.
Live life.
Love life.
