Pool Wall Repair
- 1). Find the area of the wall needing repair; to be safe, drain the pool. Needless to say, you do not want the pool filled with water when using an electric grinder.
- 2). Scrub the surface to be repaired with a dry wire brush to remove loose dirt from the damaged area.
- 3). Attach the grinder and diamond blade before plugging it in.
- 4). Begin making the crack or hole in the concrete wall a little bit larger so you can fill it more evenly with fresh concrete. Put the grinder in the hole, and turn it on low to move it back and forth, slowly chipping away at the concrete.
- 5). Use the wire brush to wipe away the concrete dust. Spray the area with the hose.
- 6). Combine the Portland cement and sand in a 2 to 1 ratio. Use the bucket and dowel, and only add water as needed to keep the compound from becoming too thick.
- 7). Use the putty knife to spread the compound inside of the hole, and then fill it completely.
- 8). Remove any extra compound around the repair, and smooth it over with the trowel. Allow 48 hours to fully cure.
