How to Remove Shockwave Updater From Task Bar

    • 1). Turn on your computer and allow the operating system to load.

    • 2). Click the "Start" menu in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Type "Msconfig" into the search box and press "Enter" on your keyboard. If you are using Windows XP, click "Start" and then "Run" before typing in "Msconfig."

    • 3). Click the "Startup" tab located across the top of the Msconfig window.

    • 4). Uncheck the check box next to "Shockwave updater."

    • 5). Click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the window. Then click the "OK" button to save your settings. The Shockwave updater is removed from your Windows task bar.
