How to Make a Friendship Knot
- 1). Cut a 5-inch piece of ribbon of each color with a pair of scissors.
- 2). Lay one ribbon horizontally on a table or surface. Wrap the other ribbon vertically around the ribbon on the table, about one-quarter of the way from the left side. Situate the vertical ribbon so two-thirds of the ribbon is behind and one-third is in front of the horizontal ribbon on the table.
- 3). Loosely wrap the horizontal ribbon behind the vertical ribbon, then over the top of the vertical ribbon to return to its original direction. The loose ends of the horizontal ribbon should be equal distance with the folds in the ribbon.
- 4). Place the long end of the vertical ribbon on top of the first horizontal ribbon, then through the loop of the second horizontal ribbon.
- 5). Pull all the ends gently to bring the pieces of ribbon together in the middle. Place a safety pin under one of the ribbons in the back, if you want to attach it to a shirt.
- 6). Trim the ends so they are even with a pair of scissors.
