When you have reached a certain age, some things seem inevitable.
Losing your teeth might be one of them.
You don't have to just give in, however, as there are now plenty of dental procedures that you can choose that will restore posterior teeth.
These can be done easily and with very little pain.
There are two methods that you can choose from.
The first way to restore posterior teeth is to have a dental implant.
This can be performed at a cosmetic dentist and does not necessarily cost a lot of money.
It will all depend on how many teeth are missing.
Some people only have one tooth, there might be a few in a row, or there could be an entire row missing.
The implants are effective in all of these cases and are preferred over bridges for patients with more than one tooth missing.
The second as just mentioned is a bridge.
This is done for those with one or perhaps one tooth on each side of the mouth that are missing.
The bridge is a porcelain tooth that is attached to crowns that are placed on some teeth next to the one that is missing.
For a few teeth in a row, this is not recommended because there will be too much strain placed on the other teeth.
It is easy to restore posterior teeth, and by using a professional and qualified dentist with experience in replacement of teeth, you will find that you have a healthy smile once again.
Depending on the severity of the problem, the cosmetic dentist might suggest using veneers and crowns instead of implants, especially for the posterior teeth as these are not really seen.
You will have to decide what you feel is best for you and also choose according to your budget.
Some people have great success with small restoration and replacement procedures as opposed to getting implants.
