MS Access 2002 Tutorial
- 1). Launch the Microsoft Access 2002 application from the "All Programs" list in the Start menu.
- 2). Click on the "Blank Database" link in the task pane on the right side of the window.
- 3). Navigate to the location on your hard drive where you want to store the new Access 2002 database, enter a name for the database file and then click "Create." All Access 2002 databases are automatically given a .mdb extension at the end of their file names.
- 4). Double-click on the "Create a table in Design View" option.
- 5). Compile a list of the fields you want to include in your database, placing each one in a separate row of the table setup window. Enter the desired field name in the first column and then specify the type of data the field will hold from the drop-down menu in the second column.
- 6). Go to the "File" menu at the top of the window and choose the "Save" option when you are done designing the field structure of your database.
- 7). Begin typing to add the first record to your database. Use the "tab" key to switch between fields. When you are ready to begin creating another record, simply click on the blank row at the bottom of the record list.
- 8). Navigate between exiting records by using the forward and backward arrows in the toolbar at the bottom of the window.
- 9). Delete a record by selecting it in your database, going to the "Edit" menu and choosing the "Delete Record" option.
